MEMBERS

The members of Farra 8 are a diverse group of young man and women that, over the years, have felt a passion for music-making. Although Farra 8 has welcomed many other musicians in the past, today, the band is formed by the following members:

Lorena Cancino

Lorena Cancino is a Physician currently persuing her specialization. She was born in Bogota, Colombia, where she completed medical school before coming to Houston. As part of several bands through the years, Lorena has become a delightful singer with impressive harmonization skills. Although Lorena is the most recent member to become part of Farra 8, with the rich and warm tones of her voice she has given the band to a new and more unique sound.

Axzel Sequera

Axzel Sequera is a Mechanical Engineer in the oil and gas industry. He obtained a Bachelor and a Master degree in Mechanical Engineering and is currently completing a MBA. Axzel grew up in eastern Venezuela where he was deeply influenced by the folk music traditions proudly recognized by his family. For his graduate studies, he moved to Norman OK, where he was invited to sing in the band Tierradentro. With this vallenato band, Axzel began interpreting and composing in different colombian and latin pop genres. Axzel enjoys salsa, merengue and traditional venezuelan rhythms. Some of his favorite artists are Franco de Vita, Guaco and Juan Guerra.

Andres Rojas

Andres Rojas is a Reservoir Engineer in the oil and gas industry. He was born in Bogota, Colombia. Andres has been part of Farra 8 since 2011 both as a bass player and singer.

Raul Jimenez

Raul Jimenez is a Biomedical Engineer who works in the Healthcare industry. He started playing classical guitar in his youth days, later he attended Xalapa’s Music Conservatory for a couple years. Since then, Raul has been playing guitar within many different music styles. He enjoys all kinds of good music, preferably live music.

Franz Mutis

Franz Mutis was born in Colombia in 1980. At the age of 16 he started playing the accordion. During his high school years he started a Vallenato band in Bucaramanga. After graduating from high school he joined the Navy in Cartagena, where he started a second band. In 1999 he moved back and rejoined his old band in Bucaramanga while starting his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering. In 2001, he moved to Oklahoma to finish his undergraduate degree. He was a founder of the band Tierradentro, which played for several years in Oklahoma and Texas. From 2009 to 2012 he was the director of the band Tekumbé. With Tekumbé, Franz recorded his first CD and played in more than 100 shows in Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas. Since June of 2013 he is a proud member of Farra 8 and enjoys playing in the Houston metropolitan area with this great group of friends.

Ignacio "Nacho" Rodon

Nacho Rodon was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela. He is a Mechanical
Engineer in the oil and gas industry living in Houston, TX. He started
playing the drum set at a young age in Maracaibo when he got exposed
to the instrument by his dad, who was a guitar player and singer in a local famous rock band. As Nacho was growing up, he joined a couple of local bands in Maracaibo and developed his passion for playing drums and percussion instruments. He was largely influenced by his Cuban dad and the local Venezuelan folkloric rhythms and continued playing
the drum set after he move to the United States.
He joined Farra8 in 2012, he enjoys making original music, creating a
fusion of rhythms and he is always trying to come up with new
percussion ideas for live shows.
Nacho enjoys playing soccer and the music of Los Amigos Invisibles,
Carlos Vives, Soda Stereo & Guaco.

Leo Bond

Leo is an entrepreneur who owns and operates BondSolar, a Solar Panel Systems and Integration company. He has obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics. Leo enjoys playing the bass, camping with the family and learning about ancient history. His favorite music genres are Disco and Latin Jazz, and some of his favorite artists are Laura Pausini and Jose Jose.

Daniel Sequera

Daniel is a Research Engineer in the oil and gas industry. He obtained Bachelor, Master and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alabama. Daniel enjoys soccer, college football, and grilling, among other things. His favorite music genre is salsa and eastern venezuelan folk music. He admires the music of Oscar D'Leon and Hernan Marin.

Fabricio Parra

Fabricio is a Geologist in the oil and gas industry. He obtained Bachelor and Master degrees from the University of Oklahoma. Fabricio enjoys playing soccer and playing different types of drums. His favorite musicians are Carlos Vives and Marco Antonio Soliz.
